Badly damaged in both the September and February quakes and over 6000 aftershocks the Point Pleasant yacht club had started to sink into the Avon estuary before being demolished in July 2011 after the June 6.3 earthquake
The driveway has collapsed into a large sink hole in front of the Shirley Burger King. Warning tape cordons off the area. The photographer comments, "These photos show our old house in River Rd and recovery work around Richmond and St Albans. Shirley Burger King has driveway issues".
A view down a New Brighton Road next to the river. On the left sandbags have been placed on the banks of the river to prevent flooding onto the road. The earthquake caused the ground to subside and sink, making this area susceptible to flooding.
