After taking photos of the results of the 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Christchurch I turned around and saw this spectacular cloud formation - must be earthquake weather!

Very sad - was a nice looking building. These cracks are right through the bricks on several of the main columns.
The 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck at about 4:35 am. Thankfully, the day was warm and still (unlike the cold driving rain and hail of yesterday afternoon).
