A video showing customers at the Z Curletts Road petrol station being 'compliment bombed' by All Right? on 17th of December 2013. The video depicts 'All Right FM' (a fake radio station), setting up at Z and surprising customers with compliments as they filled up with petrol. Dancing 'All Righties' and All Right? staff members including Ciaran Fox emerge from the store, providing the customers with coffee, flowers and free petrol.

Creativity that is driven by a need for physical or economic survival, which disasters are likely to inspire, raises the question of whether such creativity fits with conventional theories and perspectives of creativity. In this paper we use the opportunity afforded by the 2010-2013 Christchurch, New Zealand earthquakes to follow and assess the creative practices and responses of a number of groups and individuals. We use in-depth interviews to tease out motivations and read these against a range of theoretical propositions about creativity. In particular, we focus on the construct of “elite panic” and the degree to which this appeared to be evident in the Christchurch earthquakes context. Bureaucratic attempts to control or limit creativity were present but they did not produce a completely blanket dampening effect. Certain individuals and groups seemed to be pre-equipped to navigate or ignore potential blocks to creativity. We argue, using Geir Kaufmann’s novelty-creativity matrix and aspects of Teresa Amabile’s and Michael G. Pratt’s revised componential theory of creativity that a special form of disaster creativity does exist.

Prior to the devastating 2010 and 2011 earthquakes, parts of the CBD of Christchurch, New Zealand were undergoing revitalisation incorporating aspects of adaptive reuse and gentrification. Such areas were often characterised by a variety of bars, restaurants, and retail outlets of an “alternative” or “bohemian” style. These early 20th century buildings also exhibited relatively low rents and a somewhat chaotic and loosely planned property development approach by small scale developers. Almost all of these buildings were demolished following the earthquakes and a cordon placed around the CBD for several years. A paper presented at the ERES conference in 2013 presented preliminary results, from observation of post-earthquake public meetings and interviews with displaced CBD retailers. This paper highlighted a strongly held fear that the rebuild of the central city, then about to begin, would result in a very different style and cost structure from that which previously existed. As a result, permanent exclusion from the CBD of the types of businesses that previously characterised the successfully revitalised areas would occur. Five years further on, new CBD retail and office buildings have been constructed, but large areas of land between them remain vacant and the new buildings completed are often having difficulty attracting tenants. This paper reports on the further development of this long-term Christchurch case study and examines if the earlier predictions of the displaced retailers are coming true, in that a new CBD that largely mimics a suburban mall in style and tenancy mix, inherently loses some of its competitive advantage?

This involved the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra surprised customers at Wainoni Pak'nSave by setting up and performing a piece of music in the supermarket itself. The performance and customers reactions were filmed and shared on social media, with All Right? encouraging their followers to share the video around by entering everyone who shared the video into the prize draw for one of eight $250 Pak'nSave vouchers. All Right? posted the image on their Facebook page on 31 March 2014 at 8:33pm.

A video showing superheroes and 'All Righties' entertaining and giving gifts at the Christchurch Hospital childrens' wards. The video features Batman, Iron Man, Superwoman, Mr Incredible, Captain America, Black Widow, and Christchurch's own Flat Man, with Batman and Spiderman descending down the side of the building. The video and event were organised by All Right? as part of 'Outrageous Burst of All Right: Superhero Surprise'. The Press published the video in an article by Ged Cann on 28 June 2016 at 5:00am. A video showing All Right? and BNZ team members giving out flowers to staff and customers on 4 September 2013, the third anniversary of the first major earthquake. 2000 flowers from Moffatts Flower Company and hundreds of coffee vouchers from Underground Coffee were distributed as part of the Flower Bombing, to some of the areas and people most effected by the quakes - the EQC call centre, Lyttelton Main School, Lyttleton West School, Phillipstown School, Eastgate Mall and SCIRT workers. The Press published the video in an article on 23 September 2013, which was posted to the All Right? Facebook Timeline on 23 September 2013. All Right? also posted the video to their Facebook Timeline on 22 November 2013 as a Vimeo link.

A video of teachers and other staff at Christchurch schools receiving gratitude and flowers from members of the All Right? team. Ciaran Fox and some 'All Righties' (including Donovan Ryan and Jo Scott) arrive at Wainoni School and Shirley Intermediate School assemblies to launch their 'Winter Survival Kit' and share some love with a 'Little Burst of All Right'. The event was supported by BECA and the flowers were donated by Moffatts Flower Company. The Press took photographs and helped to distribute the video. All Right? posted a link to the video on their Facebook Timeline on 1 August 2014 at 4:00pm. They also published the video to YouTube on 20th November 2014.
