A photograph of a flower in a road cone at the University of Canterbury. On the anniversary of the 22 February 2011 earthquake, people were encouraged to place flowers in road cones as a way of honouring those who lost their lives during the earthquake.
A red-stickered building on Canterbury Street in Lyttelton. The building's facade has been propped up with timber, steel and concrete block bracing, and one of its windows has been weather proofed with plywood. Wire fencing has been place around the building as a cordon.
Extensive damage caused by liquefaction in Bracken Street, Avonside. A pile of liquefaction can be seen in front of this house. After the earthquake, many people had to dig this silt out of their properties and place it on the road to be collected.
A collapsed brick wall on Halswell Junction Road. A stack of bricks have been saved by the tree which has grown in a curve and is resting on the wall, holding the bricks in place. A pile of bricks can be seen on the ground where they fell.
