The ANZ Bank Chambers on the corner of High and Lichfield Streets. WORLD, a clothing store, was housed on the ground floor.

The "Nucleus" sculpture by Phil Price on the corner of High, Manchester and Lichfield Streets. It has been cordoned off with fencing and road cones, and on the right is a rubbish skip. In the background is the Westpac Building.
Damage to retail buildings on High Street. Shops shown include Burgers & Beers, as well as boutique clothing stores Embassy and Plush. All are cordoned off for safety. A collapsed ceiling is visible through the windows above Burgers & Beers.

St John's Anglican Church in Hororata with a broken bell tower. Unfortunately the top fell through the church roof. A high fence topped with barbed wire has since been erected to keep the souvenir hunters away.
