The former Canterbury Horse Bazaar building on Lichfield Street. One brick gable has collapsed, and there is cracking through the brickwork. A spray-painted warning on the wall below the remaining gable reads, "Danger, look up".
A photograph of the Hororata Hotel, which was damaged in the 4 September earthquake. A sign outside the hotel reads, "This is not the Hororata Pub. Private residence. No parking. No thoroughfare".

A pub in a church might seem unusual, but then life in Christchurch after both the September and February earthquakes has been anything but normal.
This was the closest I could get. Corner of Colombo St and Byron St. The top front wall has now gone.
Scaffolding around the damaged Irish Pub in Lyttelton.
Pomeroy's Brewery Inn on Kilmore Street viewed across the Avon River. The bar is green stickered meaning it safe to enter. As a brick building in this condition is fairly rare.

The much loved 'Dux de Lux' pub in Christchurch could be set to open its doors again in the next few years if enough money can be raised to restore it. The building was badly damaged by the earthquake in 2011 and a group looking to rebuild the pub say it could take around 12 million dollars to see it welcoming Cantabrians back. James Stewart of Gemelli Consulting had a yarn with Nathan Rarere about a couple of schemes to raise the money.
