Caged Animals

People peer through the cordon fence outside Ballantynes. The photographer comments, "Whilst on the CERA red zone coach tour we passed Ballantynes and felt like caged animals. There was crowds watching us and we were caged inside the CERA coach with our keepers to make sure we were not allowed to escape our confines".

The Unswept Leaves of Chancery Lane

The photographer comments, "Chancery Lane in the Christchurch CBD red zone looks like it has had no one through at all since the February earthquake".

The Sign of the Ozone

A digitally manipulated photograph of the Ozone Hotel's sign, leaning against a cordon fence. The photographer comments, "This sign was all that remained after the demolition of the historical Ozone Hotel, which was damaged in the Christchurch earthquakes. The sign disappeared so hopefully it will reappear at a later date in a museum. The bits of blue were the painted bricks of the hotel, which made it really stand out".

The Crowd Awaits
