Jacinda's daughter Sky, a heart stitching apprentice outside the library wearing a heart in her hair. The felt hearts were a healing outlet during the Canterbury earthquakes. The goal was to create beauty in the midst of chaos, to keep people's hands busy and their minds off the terrifying reality of the earthquakes, as well as to give a gift of love to workers and businesses who helped improve life in Lyttelton.

The tent was erected in the UCSA car park to provide support for students in the aftermath of the 22 February 2011 earthquake. The students have spent the day clearing liquefaction from Christchurch properties as part of the Student Volunteer Army.

A photograph of Crack'd for Christchurch's partially-constructed armchair artwork. The armchair is on a pallet in Greening the Rubble's workshop. Jonathan Hall has moulded polystyrene, wood, mesh, and concrete over the steel frame to construct the armchair. Two cast-iron bath feet have attached to the front legs.

A photograph of the earthquake damage to a house on Major Hornbrook Drive. The chimney has collapsed and many of the tiles have been lifted on the roof. Tarpaulins have been laid over the holes in the roof as waterproofing, but the closest has shredded. Gaps can be seen between the bricks in the wall and the wall to the left has crumbled.

The photographer comments, "These photos show our old house in River Rd and recovery work around Richmond and St Albans. The near wall is leaning at an alarming angle. I didn't like walking past it".

Wire fencing has been placed around the outside of the neighbouring property. The photographer comments, "The house was deconstructed and rebuilt on another site".

It was used by the Civil Defence to extend the range of their digital radios during the emergency response to the 22 February 2011 earthquake.

A photograph of the earthquake damage to the Observatory tower at the Christchurch Arts Centre. The top two storeys of the tower collapsed during the 22 February 2011 earthquake and the rubble spilled into the courtyard in front. A digger was used to clear the rubble away from the building. A tarpaulin has been draped over the top of the tower.

Damage to a house in Richmond. Bricks have fallen from the walls onto the driveway, and a large gap between the concrete foundation and the wooden framing shows how much the house has moved. The photographer comments, "The foundations and brick cladding moved, but the timber wall remained in position. The gap grew to over 400mm by the time the house was demolished.

A photograph of the earthquake damage to the concrete beams in a room in the PricewaterhouseCoopers Building. Sections of the concrete have crumbled to reveal the steel reinforcement underneath. A number of the ceiling panels are missing and another is hanging loose. Some of the bars that hold the ceiling panels are also hanging loose.
