In the foreground, a tarpaulin has been used to wall off the furniture from the rest of the room. The tarpaulin has partly fallen.

An elaborate graffiti tag sprayed on a wall beside a demolition site on Tuam Street. A collection of abandoned objects lie on the site. The photographer comments, "Graffiti spotted in the Christchurch earthquake red zone. What I liked was the odd mixture of bits and bobs around it".

A photograph of the earthquake damage to a brick wall of a building on Acton Street. Large sections of the wall have fallen away. The remaining section has large cracks between the bricks. A boat which was being stored inside has toppled over and is now sticking out of the building.

Crack repairs on the Rendezvous Hotel in Gloucester Street. Cracks have been injected with epoxy resin using syringes. The epoxy resin leaves a peak around each hole which will be ground down to a smooth surface. The wall will then be repainted. This process actually makes the wall stronger than it was originally.

A photograph of the earthquake damage to the back of Wharetiki on Colombo Street. The chimney of the house has pulled away from the back wall and collapsed onto the roof below. A wooden structure built up against the house has also pulled away from the wall.

Damage to a house in Richmond. The brick wall is badly cracked and twisted, and some bricks have fallen, exposing the lining paper below. The driveway is cracked and covered in liquefaction. The photographer comments, "These photos show our old house in River Rd. More shaking damage on the east wall of the living room at our house".

Broken panelling on a building on Colombo Street has exposed the interior of the walls. The photographer comments, "Seen in the Christchurch Earthquake Red Zone. If you saw this anywhere else in the world you would have thought that it was a piece of modern art".
