People from Christchurch are transported across the tarmac of the Christchurch International Airport in buses. These people were evacuated from Christchurch in the Royal New Zealand Air Force's Hercules after the 22 February 2011 earthquake.

A mental wellbeing programme for primary and intermediate school students will be expanded to five more district health board areas. Mana Ake started in 2018 in Canterbury and Kaikōura, and was a response to the ongoing trauma some tamariki were experiencing following the earthquakes. Now more year 1 to 8 pupils will receive extra help if they're struggling. Our reporter Kirsty Frame was at the announcement in Auckland.

It was held on vacant sites at the intersection of Lichfield Street, Manchester Street and High Street. It was initiated with the aim of the addressing the destruction of many Christchurch buildings following the earthquakes, and investigates the role of architecture in public memory and ways of reconnecting people with the city. A big bake off is being planned in Auckland this weekend to raise funds for the people affected by the Christchurch earthquake. The sale is taking place at Queen Elizabeth Square, opposite Britomart on Monday from 10.30 to 12.30. All the funds raised will go to the Red Cross. The organiser Glenn Browne has had such a strong response he's had to close the doors of his business and concentrate on the event.

A Taranaki business owner is warning leaseholders to read the fine print of their contracts after being asked to pay his rent in full despite a clause in his lease allowing for a rent cut if he couldn't legally access the property. Clause 27.5 was included in the Auckland District Law Society commercial lease in 2012 in response to the Canterbury earthquakes, when many leaseholders were barred from their businesses. Meet a local town hero from Auckland's Northshore - 86-year-old Māori Warden Peggy Hughes. Peggy has been serving in her community as a volunteer for about 60 years and officially as a Māori Warden for almost 50 years. She's won dozens of awards for her services - from working at the 1981 Springbok tour protests, supporting Christchurch residents after the 2011 earthquakes, serving at many memorable Waitangi Day events to the recent Black Lives Matter protests.
