A photograph of a house on Glenarm Terrace in Dallington. The chimney fell off the roof during the September earthquake and the bricks are still lying on the ground. A tarpaulin has been placed over the top of the hole to prevent water damage inside the house. Ironically, it has been weighed down with bricks. Spring flowers can be seen in the garden.

A video about the 5.1 magnitude aftershock which hit Diamond Harbour on Wednesday 8 September 2010. The aftershock caused damage to Godley House, the Governors Bay Hotel, and St Cuthbert's Church. The video includes footage of each of the buildings, as well as interviews with the owner of Godley House, the owner of the Governors Bay Hotel, and Bruce Adamson, a Lyttelton local.

They live in one of the old Dean's family residences which sustained chimney damage in Saturday's earthquake".

The photograph was taken on the day when the staff were allowed to return to the building. The video includes an interview with Fred Arnesen, owner of Beckenham Footware & Engravers, and Fiona Fidow and Jeanie Smith, owners of The Cupcake Collection. The stores are on opposite sides of Colombo Street, with the west side suffering severe damage, and the east side suffering very little. Because of this, the Beckenham Footware & Engravers has had to close, while The Cupcake Collection is able to continue operating.

Photograph captioned by Fairfax, "Teddy time: A Whanganui man has sent dozens of teddy bears to Rangiora to be distributed to children affected by the Canterbury earthquake. Ted Cheriton sent the teddies to National MP Kate Wilkinson's office to be distributed. Ms Wilkinson said it was a fantastic gesture. 'I am sure they will be welcome in Kaiapoi and beach settlements where damage from the earthquake has severely affected many families', she said. 'Hopefully these teddies will bring a smile to some young children and cheer them up in what has been a very trying and traumatic time'".
