If you look very closely, running from the nearest right desk to the second desk on the left hand side, you can see my 'fault-line', - the crack that runs the length of the classroom under the lino.
Castle Rock above Heathcote, showing damage (and two very large pieces in the foreground) that came down during the 7.1 quake on 4th September.

Can't believe how much of this rock fell off! Its looks totally different - no longer a castle. Sad but very glad that the huge rock did not hit anything on the way down!

When I lived in Christchurch back in 2004-2005, this was a building I went past on the bus every day to get to and from work in the city. After the big quake on 04/09/10 (7.1 magnitude), its been seriously damaged. As have many more of the shops in this area. The CBD is slowly being opened up and this is the post - earthquake result of Cashel Mall. A vibrant, fresh look with high end shopping in colourful container shops. A really good step forward for the city.
