The Taiwanese Search and Rescue team being farewelled at the Christchurch International Airport after helping out with the emergency response to the Canterbury Earthquake.

The brick chimney section of a house on Avonside Drive. Cracks can be seen between the bricks and the whole chimney has moved away from the rest of the house. It has been strengthened with timber bracing.
Plastic barriers and fencing around a demolition site at the corner of Cranford and Westminster Streets. Different types of building rubble have been sorted into piles, and a concrete block still remains on-site.
The Empire Hotel on London Street in Lyttelton. Bracing has been placed on the front of the building to keep it together and limit further damage from aftershocks. The building has been cordoned off with fencing.

Tents set up in the Arts car park at the University of Canterbury after the 22 February 2011 earthquake. The tents were used as temporary lecture rooms while the buildings were being checked for damage.
A front entrance of the badly-damaged Oxford Terrace Baptist Church. The roof of the building has crumbled onto the footpath below. Damaged brickwork is still visible above. Steel bracing has been placed against the wall to keep it upright.
A large crack in the ground at Sullivan Park in Avonside which has resulted from the 4 September 2010 earthquake. Remnants of liquefaction silt can be seen around the edges of the crack.
Heart-shaped notes on the fence of Burwood Primary School. The notes express appreciation for the efforts of the civil defence, fire service, volunteers and council workers from the students of Burwood Primary.
The former Public Library building on the corner of Hereford Street and Cambridge Terrace. The brickwork of the gables has crumbled onto the street. Wire fencing has been placed around the building to keep people away.
