The saturated soil is collapsing as a result of contractor Tony Fisher, of Fisher Agriculture Ltd, having jumped lightly up and down on the edge of the pit.

The artwork is part of the ContainerArt project which aims to turn the fixture of shipping containers in the Sumner community into a positive by turning them into works of art.

The photographer comments, "A bike ride to New Brighton and the beach 3 weeks after the Feb 22 quake. Roads were still very rough and under reconstruction.
