A video of an interview with Shaun Gladwell, a London-based artist, about the sculptures he designed for the Christchurch central city. Gladwell talks about how the sculptures are based on skateboard forms and have been designed to be used by skateboarders. He also talks about being inspired by YouTube videos of Christchurch skateboarders who used the damaged landscape in Christchurch as a skate park after the 22 February 2011 earthquake. The video includes clips from some of these YouTube videos.

An architect and art historian is setting up an action group to oppose the demolition of one of the most well-known churches in Christchurch, the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. The church, registered as a Category 1 building with Heritage New Zealand, was damaged in the 2011 earthquakes and has sat in a state of disrepair ever since. Dr Anna Crighton is from Historic Places Aotearoa. She talks to Susie Ferguson.

A video of an interview with Zak and Alasdair Cassels about the development of the historic tannery site in Woolston. The Cassels are developing the site into a Victorian-style arcade which will house up to 70 tenants, including bars, restaurants, a music venue, gift shops, fashion stores, a hair salon, a Pilates studio, a tattoo parlour, and an art gallery. The video also includes an interview with Sarah Odering, the manger of Dead Set.

It’s almost 13 years since the devastating earthquake of 22 February 2011, which forced 70 percent of the Ōtautahi Christchurch CBD to be demolished. While the rebuild has been a slow and often difficult process in visions meeting reality, there is also much to celebrate in the city taking up the opportunity, through art and design, to remake it as a place for all.

A video of a play produced and performed by students from Avonside Girls' High School. The play was created for the Theater Federation One Act Play Festival, on the topic of the Christchurch rebuild. The students modeled the play on the epic theatre style, aiming to emotionally affect and enact change in their audience.
