Old churches and earthquakes do not mix well.

The support has been outstanding for those with damaged homes, buildings and farm infrastructure, but some are still too shattered to really know what to get the keen helpers to do.

Businesses, farmers and workers in Canterbury are anxiously waiting to see what more the government will do to help after the 7.1 earthquake that devastated the region on Saturday morning.

You may experience a range of feelings as you move through the crisis and afterwards. Stress, worry, anxiety, fear, uncertainty, anger etc. all are natural responses. Feeling tense and constantly going over events in your mind are also natural responses. It is normal and okay to feel whatever you are feeling. The intensity of uncomfortable thoughts and feelings will lessen as life returns to normal".
This restaurant used to do bookings for large groups only and you all had to pick and wear funny hats from hooks around the walls.

A Red Sticker on the window, the heading says 'Do not approach or enter this building'. These placards were used following the September earthquake to inform the public about the status of a building after it had been checked by engineers.
