Light-Relief - With no power after the 6.3 magnatude quake hit Christchurch (22 February 2011) the neighbour's freezer thawed out along with their Deep South Ice Cream - so Tiggles the Kunekune Piglet thinks the spoils of the power-cut are yummy!
Workmen approach the elevator shaft of the CTV building - 05 March 2011 The CTV building claimed 115 lives when it collapsed in a pile of smoking rubble on 22 February 2011 during a 6.3 earthquake in Christchurch and only the lift shaft was left standing.

Taken soon after the 6.3 magnatude quake hit Christchurch 22 February 2011. A friend tried to get home when the road opened up and her 4 wheel drive went down. We could not get it out! The grey liquefaction has stuck the other car fast. It took less than an hour to grow this thick.

Hotel Grand Chancellor - Leaning 1m to the east, demolition will start about mid June and is expected to take 10 months to complete at a cost of approx NZ$10m.
