This originally straight farm fence has been laterally displaced at least 2 metres where it crosses the previously unknown Greendale Faultline from which the Saturday 4 September 2010 earthquake originated.

There was a risk of rocks falling off cliffs behind Redcliffs school following Sept 4th earthquake. A helicopter was used to wash off loose rocks to lower the risk to the school.

Aftermath of September 4th Earthquake in Canterbury. Shops on Colombo Street in Christchurch. The initial 7.1 quake has been followed by around 1590 aftershocks recorded to date - causing further damage to already weakened structures.
