A photograph of a portaloo outside a property on Gayhurst Road. Many parts of Christchurch were cut off from water after the September earthquake and had to use portaloos until the sewage system was fixed.

A photograph of portable toilets in Burwood. Many hundreds of portable toilets have been provided to members of the public in areas where the sewerage system has failed and will require many months of major earthworks to rectify.

A hole in the side of the road along Avonside Drive. A blue pipe can be seen inside the hole. Pipes like this were used to provide temporary water supplies to the neighbourhood while the water system was being repaired.
