A view of the Cranmer Court building on the corner of Kilmore and Montreal Streets, showing damage from the 4 September 2010 earthquake. Masonry has fallen away from the apexes of several of the building's gables, which have been reinforced with timber bracing. A green cord has been used to tie bracing to the octagonal section on the corner of the building. This corner section is the part that housed Plato Creative from March 2008 to November 2009.

In the press conference Matthews announces that the Cathedral will be deconsecrated, that parts of it will be demolished, and that the rest will be made safe. These measures will allow the recovery of artefacts and heritage items from the building.

The housing complex was unoccupied after the 22 February 2011 earthquake despite the housing shortage. Christchurch City Council said that the vacant units could not be lived in because of structural damage or damage to services. However, the building has been checked by structural engineers and many of the rooms have been deemed safe to occupy.

The Southern Asian Restaurant, along with neighbouring Little Saignon and Jenny Craig, were deemed dangerous by CERA and ordered to stop trading with only 90 minutes notice. The video includes an interview with Lianne Dalziel, the Labour MP for Christchurch East, and April Ouyang, the owner of the Southern Asian Restaurant.

The club will reopen on 9 June 2012, after an intensive rebuild and restoration process which has fixed the damage from the 22 February 2011 earthquake. A media release produced by the General Manager of SPCA Canterbury about the SPCA's "Desex in the City" campaign which offered to desex cats, dogs, kittens and puppies in Christchurch for free after the 2010 and 2011 Canterbury earthquakes. The campaign was created in order to help reduce unwanted animal numbers in Christchurch.

Parker announces that he had declared a state of emergency for Christchurch. He also gives advice to residents, telling them to conserve water, avoid flushing the toilets, to not go out and 'rubberneck', and to check on their neighbours.

Jenny's daughter Selena Beecroft had to move into Jenny's house with her two sons after the 22 February 2011 earthquake damaged her rental property. Selena has epilepsy and can only move into a rental property in walking distance of her work and her children's school. The family is one of many living in difficult situations despite the government's claim that there is no housing crisis in Christchurch.

The video shows footage of Lion Nathan employees clearing away pallets of broken bottles and mopping up spilt beer. The items found included the foundations of a nineteenth century ice skating rink, and bowling shoes. The video also includes an interview with shop owners Brian and Betty Hazeldine.
