A photograph of the earthquake damage to the Observatory tower at the Christchurch Arts Centre. The top two storeys of the tower collapsed during the 22 February 2011 earthquake and the rubble spilled into the courtyard in front. A digger was used to clear the rubble away from the building. A tarpaulin has been draped over the top of the broken tower and the roof behind.

The upper section of the Durham Street Methodist Church. Scaffolding has been constructed to allow workers from the South Island Organ Company to retrieve the church's valuable and historic organ. The windows at the far end have been weather proofed with plywood and strengthened with timber bracing.

The McKenzie and Willis building on High Street with damage to the top storey. The side wall has crumbled, exposing the inside of the building where the roof has been propped up by scaffolding. The front facade of the building is also damaged and is held upright by steel bracing.

St Pauls Trinity-Pacific Presbyterian Church on the corner of Cashel and Madras Streets. Scaffolding has been placed around the left dome of the building which was damaged during the 4 September earthquake. Plastic has also been placed over the dome to protect the inside from weather damage.
