A PDF copy of the site map for CityUps. CityUps was a 'city of the future for one night only', and the main event of FESTA 2014. It was held on vacant sites at the intersection of Lichfield Street, Manchester Street and High Street. Architecture students from Unitec, The University of Auckland and CPIT collaborated with local businesses to create large-scale, temporary structures to entertain the public.
This thesis was completed by Abigail Thompson for her Master of Architecture (Professional) at the University of Auckland in 2012. It was initiated with the aim of the addressing the destruction of many Christchurch buildings following the earthquakes, and investigates the role of architecture in public memory and ways of reconnecting people with the city. Note that some images in the thesis have been obscured in order to avoid copyright infringement.

A video of a tour of Lion Nathan's Canterbury Brewery, where employees are cleaning up after the 4 September 2010 earthquake. The video shows footage of Lion Nathan employees clearing away pallets of broken bottles and mopping up spilt beer. It also includes an interview with Neil Hinton, Lion Nathan Corporate Affairs Director, about the beer which has been sent down from Auckland, and the help they are giving to the City Mission.
