After the liquefaction has been cleaned up we have piles of the stuff on our streets waiting for the council to pick it up. This little Gnome is obviously doing its bit as Christchurch cleans up after the 6.3 magnitude quake 22 February 2011.

Cleaning up Manning Signs of the silt from liquefaction. Three fellow workers man the shovels while two building engineers talk to the boss (hidden). After doing the car park we then turned our hands to the inside of the factory, once clearance was given that we could go inside.
Workers use a large water-blasting pipe to clear blocked drains. The photographer comments, "The Australian company Barry Bros Turned up very late at night to clean out our street drains of liquefaction".
