Temporary office space set up in the NZi3 building. The photographer comments, "University of Canterbury administration all fits into one building! Well, sort of. A long view of the west end; Facilities, enrolments, student admin, then meeting areas. E-learning is the first bay to the east side of the stairs".
Workers eat lunch at an outdoor table next to the Gap Filler Community Chess Set on Colombo Street. The Chess Set was a collaboration between Gap Filler and students at the University of Canterbury. The project aimed to restore the iconic Christchurch Chess Set that used to be played in Cathedral Square.

They have been spray painted with the Student Volunteer Army's so that they are not confused with those the students have brought themselves.
