A building on Victoria Street, housing the Chinwag Eathai restaurant, that has been give a yellow placard. This was a building assessment system used following the February earthquake indicating that there should be limited access and that the building needs further evaluation.

View down Victoria Street with the Casino on the right having some construction working being done, and the deconsruction of the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the end of the street. Flags in Canterbury colours, red and black can be seen on the street lights.

Many have been cleared away and now sit in a pile on the road. Road cones, metal fences, and cordon tape have been placed around the building.
On a walk over to Hagley Park to great some shots of the wonderful Cherry Blossom I past by the Knox Church rebuild and found that the scaffolding has come down at last. It sure was shinning in the midday light.

The statue of Captain Cook looks over an empty Victoria Square with autumn leaves lying around. This used to be a very tidy and busy area, but is now nearly all fenced off. Pedestrian access to this section was established about five or six months ago.
