I used to get lunch at the cafe "Next Best" here. Glad the earthquake did not strike at lunch time!

Can't believe how much of this rock fell off! Its looks totally different - no longer a castle. Sad but very glad that the huge rock did not hit anything on the way down!

Very sad - was a nice looking building. These cracks are right through the bricks on several of the main columns.

These cracks would worry me but apparently the building is generally Ok.
Overlooking McCormacks bay out across the city with the Southern Alps as a backdrop.
There is still a strong effect from the July 11, 2011 Volcanic erruption (Puyehue) in Chile. Ash made it over to New Zealand causing very strong colours at sunset. The colours have not been artificially changed and its not a mash up.
