The bridge on River Road just before the Banks Ave turn off. The bridge approach to the left subsided. Temporary repairs have been carried out but you can still see evidence of the amount of subsidence by the traffic island in the middle of the road.

Crack repairs on the Rendezvous Hotel in Gloucester Street. Cracks have been injected with epoxy resin using syringes. The epoxy resin leaves a peak around each hole which will be ground down to a smooth surface. The wall will then be repainted. This process actually makes the wall stronger than it was originally.

Further damage to the bank following the two quakes on 23/12/11. The sewer line broke here and was repaired (patched) by council staff on Christmas Eve. It is hard to beleve that this rock wall was level with the land here, before any of the quakes.

Context - Three months after a quake that scored a direct hit under Christchurch, many residents are struggling with mountains of paperwork required to get their homes repaired and rebuilt. Only it is worse this time! As from Wednesday I won't have car access to the property, nor the street, nor one of the neighbouring streets - for a month at least! A second attempt to do a sewer repair after the earthquakes - yes I know they were 3 to 2½ years ago!
