Christchurch Sept 4th Earthquake. 10-15 minutes after main quake (went up the hill incase).
When I was a kid this bit of land in the foreground was level and extended at least three times further out, but after the earthquakes you can see the angle that land near the river slumped. We used to catch a lot of herrings (yellow -eyed mullet) here when I was a kid, hence the local name of Herring Bay. Across the river is the Bexley Wetlands.
The kids in this house won't be getting presents from Santa this Christmas; collapsed chimney stack following the magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Christchurch on Saturday 4-9-2010.
There will be some very upset kids this Christmas, as Santa will not be able to deliver their presents; aftermath of the magnitude 7,1 earthquake that struck Christchurch on 4 September 2010.
Community noticeboards and the library is there along with the guinea pigs for sale and the keen kids looking for work.
