Meet the UC CEISMIC interns: Han

This semester, UC CEISMIC is hosting eight University of Canterbury Bachelor of Arts interns. Han Li writes about her experiences as an intern with the project:

Hi, my name is Han Li and I'm currently an intern at CEISMIC in a digital archivist role. I'm finishing my BA this year, majoring in Media and Communications and minoring in Art History. Last year, I finished a degree in Fine Arts majoring in Graphic Design.

My project consists of exploring a representative content sample of given to UC CEISMIC by Fairfax. I am scoping the material, identifying technical requirements, and making recommendations as to how to manage the content. Specifically, I am developing strategies for sampling and describing digital objects, with the aim of ensuring that high quality material becomes available for research. This internship has given me the opportunity to apply the skills I've gained at UC to a real-life project, one that will go on to benefit future academics and students.
